Whether a dip in the Humber or one of the beautiful beaches dotted along the North Sea coast, there are plenty of options. There may not be great white sharks or box jellyfish waiting for us but there are possibly far more terrifying and unknown monsters lurking beneath. There are a surprising number of historical accounts of sea monsters that have been reported along the East Yorkshire coast for over a century. Local historian Mike Covell takes a look at the accounts from the bizarre to the truly terrifying.
