Wallabies embarrassed by All Blacks in 36-0 Bledisloe Cup thumping

Australia’s Bledisloe Cup anguish lives on, their hopes reduced to rubble in a harrowing 36-0 loss to the All Blacks at their Eden Park graveyard. Having raised hopes they could lift the trans-Tasman prize for the first time in 17 years following last week’s record 47-26 win in Perth, the Wallabies were overwhelmed by the motivated hosts on Saturday. In wet conditions, New Zealand’s physicality went to a new level, scoring five tries and providing evidence they aren’t the declining force some had suggested. Australian coach Michael Cheika had little to cheer as his team were held scoreless for just the second time in any Test since 1973. Sean Dyche: Rules allow players to ‘cheat at least once a game’

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49383527Burnley manager Sean Dyche says players “can cheat at least once a game” as he criticised the Premier League’s rules on simulation after defeat at Arsenal. Dyche, a long-standing advocate of harsher punishments for diving, believes the threat of a yellow card does not offer enough of a deterrent. On the changes he would like to see, Dyche said: “Simple. Ban them. It would be out of football within a month. “It’s not about Arsenal. Sean Dyche: Rules allow players to ‘cheat at least once a game’

Red-hot Bryce Harper leaves game due and receives IV due to dehydration

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/red-hot-bryce-harper-leaves-game-due-and-receives-iv-due-to-dehydration/Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper has been hot lately. He entered Sunday hitting .254/.365/.635 with eight home runs since the beginning of August. Understandably, there was much concern when he was removed during Sunday’s contest for reasons unknown. As it turns out, Harper wasn’t injured — nor had his wife, Kayla, gone into labor as originally speculated.  Rather, Harper was simply dehydrated, to the extent that his vision was impacted. After the game, he called the incident “weird” but said that he’s fine now after receiving an IV: Say what you will about Harper’s season as a whole — and he came into play on Sunday with a 120 OPS+ on the season — but he’s been a fixture in the Philadelphia lineup. He’s appeared in all 123 of the Phillies’ games, and has started every contest since July 24. Red-hot Bryce Harper leaves game due and receives IV due to dehydration

The case for each of the Capitals’ four goalies

https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/capitals/making-case-each-capitals-four-goaliesGoalie may not be the most important position in hockey, but it is certainly the most impactful. No player has a bigger effect on a single game than a goalie, so teams better make sure they have a good plan for who can lead them in the crease heading into each season. The Capitals have been set at goalie for several years now, but heading into the 2019-20 season there is some question about what the team’s goalie tandem will and should look like. Luckily for general manager Brian MacLellan and head coach Todd Reirden, they have plenty of options. Here are the four goalies who could see playing time this year, along with the case for each of them. The case for Holtby: Trading away a player on the final year of his contract can be smart business, but not always. The case for each of the Capitals’ four goalies
