‘Sword’ a funny, and timely, improv

‘Sword’ a funny, and timely, improv Mick LaSalle, Hearst Newspapers The main pleasure of “Sword of Trust” is in watching an ensemble of expert comic actors play off of each other. The movie was improvised, based on a tightly constructed story, and every scene has some comic jewel in it, some unexpected touch or moment. The secondary pleasure is the sense that this movie, in its ideas and themes, could not have been made five years ago. “Sword of Trust” doesn’t deal with anything specific that’s going on. There’s nothing strictly topical about it. But all the same, the movie feels very much of its time. ‘Sword’ a funny, and timely, improv
